Sustainability is at the heart of Treat Cheats.
It is extremely important to us that our bars are not only great for people, but also for our environment. That’s why on top of the amazing taste and health benefits, we are working hard to make sure our bars are sustainably and ethically sourced. We only use 100% sustainable cocoa to avoid the common exploitation of farmers by paying them fairly for their hard graft and giving back to their communities, and we also don’t and will never use palm oil within our bars, despite its frequent use within the confectionary industry, due to the impact on deforestation and habitat destruction.

We wanted to create a chocolate bar that was not only better for your health, but also aligned with our belief in the importance of ethical and sustainable business practices. No Palm Oil
We see the name all the time but what actually is it and why is it so bad?
Palm oil is a popular and versatile oil that is extremely common as an ingredient in chocolate products due to its low cost, making products lower quality and cheap to produce. Like other oils, it is extremely calorie dense making it pretty unhealthy for us, but that’s not the main reason for its bad reputation….
Palm oil production is extremely damaging to the environment. So much so, the WWF describes it as the major contributor to world deforestation and habitat destruction, threatening the extinction of already endangered species such as orangutans, elephants and rhinos, and becoming a major contributor to climate change.
